The Life Cycle of a Blog Post

If you’ve ever wondered just what happens when you post something to your blog, you’re not alone. Some things are obvious: the post ends up on your blog, and if you have date or category archives, it gets dropped into the right spots to appear on those pages, too. But you’ve probably heard a lot about how blogs are ideal for generating search engine results and Web traffic, and maybe you’ve wondered how that happens exactly.

Wonder no longer. Wired magazine ran a story on January 22 that explains exactly what happens, complete with an amazing info graphic.

Live Blogging The Book Launch Party

Blogging for Dummies Book Launch Party!

Today is a big day for me and for Shane Birley, my co-author on “Blogging for Dummies, 2nd Edition.” We’re having a book launch party! I haven’t done this with either of my other books. It can be hard to find the energy to plan an event like this after you’ve written the whole book and done a bunch of marketing. But this time friends urged us not to let the opportunity go, and even helped organize it (Thanks Allyson!).
